Felix Zaccarino

Felix Zaccarino, 96 years old of Cecil, died Thursday, October 25, 2018 of a broken heart.

He was born February 5, 1922 in Cecil, son of the late Camillo and Beatrice Pelino Zaccarino.

He was a member of St, Mary Parish, UMWA, and Operating Engineers Local 66. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved nature. He was a accomplished Guitar player and had to learn to read music when he started his band the Royals.

He worked for National Coal in the Muse mine, then served in WWII as a Sergeant, After returning from the war he worked for Consol Coal at Imperial coal washer, He then was a mechanic for Zaccarino Auto body in Cuddy, Bozo Construction, Lou McMasters Construction, and Chartiers Paving.

Surviving him by only 17 hours was his wife of 75 years, Jean Gizoni Zaccarino of Cecil, also surviving two sons, Terry (Claudia) Zaccarino of Fairfax, VA, and Wayne (Patty) Zaccarino of Cecil, daughter, Phyllis Zaccarino (Terry Marynchak) of Cecil, four grandchildren, Kara (Todd) Bell of Cecil, Philip Zaccarino of Falls Church, VA, Russell Zaccarino of Great Falls, VA, and Matthew Zaccarino of Lake Mary, FL, three great-grandchildren, TJ, Presley, and Kole Bell.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony 'Zuck', and Joseph Zaccarino, five sisters Christina Santicci, Lucy L'herbier, Rose Taylor, Marion Chabassol, and Louise Malenka.

Friends will be received 2-8 P.M., Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road (Rt.50) Cecil, where prayers of transfer will be said on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11:15 AM, followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM in St Mary Church with Father Stan Gregorek, officiating.

Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, where full military honors will be accorded.
