Laureen Salerno

Laureen A. (Beaumont) Salerno, age 67, a lifelong resident of Cecil, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, after a 4-month battle with lung cancer.

She was born on Saturday, October 25, 1958, to the late Joseph R. and Constance (Conoscuito) Beaumont.

Laureen graduated from Canon-McMillan High School in the class of 1976. She continued her education at the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy where she earned her beauticians license.

Laureen's love for baking led her to work for Giant Eagle Market as a baker, where she worked for over 35 years. Laureen loved her Italian heritage and all of the Italian traditions celebrated with her family. She also loved everything sports, she was an avid dirt track race fan, and enjoyed going out to eat, preferring the Oasis Restaurant which was her favorite of all. She also volunteered at Cecil #3 Ladies Auxiliary.

On April 23, 2017, she married her soul mate, the late Joseph Salerno. They celebrated 4 happy years of marriage before his passing on September 14, 2021.

Laureen is survived by her sister Denise E. (Beaumont) Schweitzer and her husband David W. Schweitzer of Fawn Twp., PA, Joe's children Gina, Allison, Hailey, and Morgan Salerno, her brothers-in-law Frank (Kathy) Salerno and Thomas (Adrienne) Salerno, her aunt and uncle Virginia and Arthur Beaumont, her aunt Barb Beaumont, and many cousins, nieces, a nephew, and 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew whom she adored.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, David R. Beaumont and his wife Nancy Capelli Beaumont and Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and very close cousins. She also leaves behind her best friend, 'my boy', her dog Moglie.
