Loretta Agnes Stewart, 89, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2026.
She was born on May 28, 1936 in McDonald, daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Shiel) Walker. Loretta was the last surviving of eleven children.
Loretta was the beloved wife of the late Louis Stewart, Sr., with whom she shared 69 wonderful years of marriage. She had a vibrant personality and was truly a social butterfly who loved being around people. Loretta enjoyed gambling-especially playing the slot machines at the casino and scratch-off tickets-and cherished her visits to Las Vegas to spend time with her sister. She loved to laugh, dance, and, most of all, care for her family.
A devoted animal lover, Loretta had a special place in her heart for cats and leaves behind her beloved companions, Baby, Punky, Otto, and Sweet Pea.
Loretta was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She was employed at Canonsburg Hospital as a medical escort for 25 years and also contributed to the war effort by helping build parts for bombs at RCA.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her daughter, Pamela (Steven Wojcuich) Hixon; her son, Louis (Bonnie) Stewart, Jr.; her grandchildren, Heather (Christian) Sprung and Melissa Sowinski; her great-grandchildren, Danielle and Olivia Sprung; her niece, Patricia Dooey; and her nephews, Jerry Walker, Jackie Walker, and Billie Stewart, along with her nieces, Laurie, Betty and Shirley.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all ten of her siblings.
Friends will be received from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, PA 15321, where a funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, April 9, 2026, with Pastor John Patterson officiating.
Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery.
