Pierre Haan passed away on July 4, 2024, at his home in Crescent, Pennsylvania.

He was born on December 7, 1931 to Edouard Hahn and Cesia Goldsand in Schaerbeek, Belgium. After a difficult childhood during World War II, he moved to New York City. Returning to Europe as part of the US occupation forces after the war, he met and married Therese Rome on November 12, 1960, and they returned to the US together.

Pierre went on to complete his education at Hofstra University and later at Purdue University, earning a Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He spent his career working with first Lake Central, then Allegheny, then USAIR, moving from Long Island, to Paris, to Indianapolis, to Pittsburgh.

He is survived by his son, Bernard Haan (Cindy Stack), his daughter, Francoise Haan, his grandchildren, Jacob, Andrew, Myla, Owen, Ned, MyChi and MeiLi, his cousin Éveline (Sam Berger), niece and nephews Beatrice, Richard, and Phillippe, and close friends Francine and Tina.
