Virginia Louise Strimel

Virginia Louise Strimel, 90 years old of Canonsburg, formerly of Cecil, died January 29, 2018 in North Strabane Health and Rehab.

She was born March 9, 1927 in Collier Township, daughter of the late John and Julia Stenzel Halley.

She married Leon Frank Strimel in 1949 and together they raised their children, to whom she dedicated her life. She took great pride in her home and loved being in the kitchen cooking for her family. She cherished her friends and neighbors with whom she played cards, and enjoyed dancing. She was a member of Cecil Alliance Church, Cecil American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, McDonald-Cecil, and South Fayette Senior Citizens Groups.

Surviving are Son, Leon A. (Denise) Strimel of Canonsburg, Daughter, Eva (Donald) Graziano of Cecil, three grandchildren, Christa (Bryan) Schutt of McMurray, Captain Brad (Anna) Strimel of Ft. Hood, TX, and Grant (Fiancee Tara) Strimel of Canonsburg, great-grandchildren, Frederick, Eliza, and Greta Schutt, sister, Jean Potts of South Fayette, sister-in-law, Mary Strimel of Mansfield, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leon Frank Strimel, July 26, 1999, three sisters Elizabeth Miller, Jane Potts, and Gloria Mae, in infancy, and two brothers, John A. and Walter Halley.

Services were private at Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services 3378 Millers Run Road (Rt.50) Cecil, PA with Gateway Hospice Chaplain Rev. Sue Petritis Officiating.

Interment was in the Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
